Travis County thawing out after cold front

In January, a large swath of Texas experienced freezing temperatures and dangerous driving conditions on several days. When icy conditions exist, it is especially important that governments, businesses, and school districts make the right call to keep their employees and students at home. This helps with the amount of accidents on the road and cuts down on unnecessary traffic.

Travis County was effectively shut down on Tuesday, January 16th with all school districts and government offices closing along with many businesses telling their employees to stay home. Yet, Travis County Pct 2 was out monitoring the roads, assisting motorists, and taking calls. Even though it wasn't the blizzard Austin was expecting, Pct 2 will continue to keep the safety of the public first in its mission statement.
