PCT. 2 Participates In the Law Enforcement Torch Run Benefiting Special Olympics Texas

It was a beautiful spring day on the morning of April 25th at the Texas Law Enforcement Torch Run benefiting Special Olympics Texas. The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics was started in 1981 by Wichita, Kansas and is Special Olympics’ largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle in the world. Law enforcement officers throughout the world carry the "Flame of Hope" through the streets of their communities and deliver it to their local, state, national or world Special Olympics Games.

Law Enforcement Officers in Austin ran eight miles culminating at the Capitol steps. Our office felt fortunate to be a small part of this dynamic organization and wished all the athletes the best while competing. Thanks to the Austin Police Department for hosting the event and inviting PCT. 2 to join in the celebration.
