Since its construction, the building that houses our office, the Justice of the Peace Pct. 2 office, and the North Probation Unit has been known simply as the Travis County Precinct 2 Building. For the last couple of years, Constable Adan Ballesteros has worked to get the building named after Cpl. Kevin Aigner, who passed away suddenly while on patrol during the Steiner Ranch fires of 2011.
On February 26th, the Travis County Commissioner's Court voted unanimously to change the name to the Kevin L. Aigner Building. This development means a great deal to the Aigner family and to his law enforcement brothers and sisters, many of whom still work at Pct. 2. We appreciate all the support we received from the other four Constable offices who showed up in numbers as we presented our recommendation to Commissioner's Court. We would also like to thank the Aigner family, the Commissioners, and everyone who wrote a letter to Travis County in support of this measure.
