For the second time this year, Constable Adan Ballesteros and the Pct. 2 office partnered with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for the National Drug Take Back on Saturday October 27th. This year, our office gathered over 700 pounds of unused or expired medications. The event has been very successful each time and community residents have been vocally appreciative of the event.

The event aims at educating people on the dangers of flushing medications down the toilet and into the water supply. Another dangerous possibility that parents should be wary of is their children finding and accidentally ingesting medications. The DEA provides safe disposal by incinerating medications brought in during the event.
