Juneteenth Celebration For Travis County

Writer's picture: tcco2admintcco2admin

Travis County held its annual Juneteenth Celebration on June 15th this year. Pct. 2 Deputies attended the celebration and enjoyed all of the festivities. There was plenty of food, fun, singing, and even a DJ.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is an American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the State of Texas, and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the former Confederacy of the Southern United States.
