Constable Adan Ballesteros Partners With Local Mosque To Provide Active Shooter Training

Even before the New Zealand Christchurch Mosque massacre on March 15th, the North Austin Muslim Community Center was the target of multiple hate crimes back in September when the mosque was vandalized several times. In response to these crimes and the New Zealand mosque attacks, the North Austin mosque is preparing its members for an active shooter situation.

On March 23rd, Constable Adan Ballesteros and his PCT2 Constable office provided active shooter scenario training to the mosque. Deputy Michael De Leon led the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training also known as ALERRT. The program teaches to avoid, deny, and defend and also teaches about knowing the exits and your surroundings can save lives. Any business, worship center, or school can request active shooter training through our office at https://www.traviscountyconstable2.us/training or through https://alerrt.org/.
