In its 12th year, The Corporal Kevin Aigner Memorial Toy Drive donated over 1000 toys under the Christmas tree this year to families who experienced economic hardships. We partnered with Avance-Austin, a non-profit organization that assists hard to reach, low-income families, and provided gifts to every family in their program. We also donated toys to families through Covenant Methodist Church and their amazing ministry which donates food and other necessary supplies every Wednesday afternoon at their location on Duval Road. We thank all of our community partners and everyone who donated toys to make this year another successful year of the toy drive.
The toy drive was started to honor Corporal Kevin Aigner who passed away while helping the residents of Steiner Ranch during the fires of 2011. Corporal Kevin Aigner was a leader in his community and helped mentor kids through coaching youth baseball and teaching Law Enforcement ethics and procedures to young adults through the Travis County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office Explorer Program. The toy drive generously supplies toys to families in our precinct who are unable to afford them over the holidays.
